Project ECCO Lunar New Year Promotion

Brief

Lunar New Year is traditionally an important trading period for ECCO. Our goal was to maximise customer engagement through an outside-the-box tactical campaign, with a splash of fun and theatre.

Execution

We supplied tens of thousands of delicious fortune cookies to be given to every customer entering an ECCO store. They were encouraged to open them while in store to reveal a surprise gift or offer, enticing on-the-spot purchases.

Online customers were also able to participate – in a fun and innovative way that encouraged sales conversions – with a digital fortune cookie that could be cracked open by simply shaking a smartphone.

Results

With a remarkable 24% redemption rate, 32% of all transactions during the promotion period were attributed to the campaign. Along with 17% and 26% increases in ATV and strike rate, the results smashed all expectations.

The good news went global and we helped ECCO Canada execute a similar campaign the following year.
